Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

Chess Training is designed so that the puzzle tool can be used without creating an account and without sending your puzzle progress or preferences to Goldgewicht Consulting. We do not collect personal data through the normal use of the puzzle tool.

This policy explains the limited information involved in operating chesstraining.com, including the current chess puzzle tool available at https://www.chesstraining.com/puzzles, the related information and legal pages, local browser storage, anonymous aggregate analytics, technical hosting logs and voluntary email contact.

At present, Chess Training does not provide user accounts, online payments, rankings, forums, newsletters or user-generated content features.

1. Publisher and Privacy Contact

The website is published by Goldgewicht Consulting, EURL, 75 avenue Parmentier, 75011 Paris, France. For privacy questions, contact: contact@chesstraining.com.

2. Current Scope of the Service

The current public service is the interactive chess puzzle training tool available at https://www.chesstraining.com/puzzles, together with related information and legal pages. Chess Training does not currently provide user accounts. We do not ask you to create a profile and we do not collect names, email addresses or passwords for account purposes.

3. Progress and Preferences Stored Locally

When you use the puzzle tool, your puzzle progress, preferences and similar settings are stored locally in your browser using local storage or similar browser storage. This information stays on your device and is not sent to Goldgewicht Consulting as part of the normal use of the puzzle tool. You can erase it at any time by using the reset option in the app, if available, or by clearing your browser data.

4. Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool. It:

These statistics are used only to understand how the website and the puzzle tool are used. We do not use them to identify individual visitors, create visitor profiles, or track users across websites.

Plausible states that its analytics are compliant with the GDPR, CCPA and PECR. Analytics data is hosted in the European Union.

5. Technical Delivery, Hosting and Security Logs

The website and its content are delivered through technical service providers, including OVHcloud for hosting. Like any website, technical connection information may be generated by hosting infrastructure as part of normal internet communications, such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, date and time of the request, and security or error logs.

These technical logs are not used by Goldgewicht Consulting to create individual visitor profiles or for advertising tracking. If such logs are made available to us, they are used only to deliver the website, maintain security, diagnose errors and prevent abuse.

6. Contact by Email

If you contact us by email, you choose to send us your email address, the content of your message and any information you include. We use this information only to respond to your request and manage any follow-up.

Contact messages are kept only for as long as necessary to handle the request, unless a longer retention period is required to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. Plausible Analytics is cookieless. Browser local storage used for puzzle progress and preferences is used to provide the puzzle tool and remember your choices on your device.

If we later add cookies or trackers that require consent, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent before placing them.

8. Service Providers

The current service may rely on the following technical providers:

9. International Transfers

Where possible, we choose providers and configurations that limit data handling to the European Economic Area. Some providers may involve infrastructure, support or technical operations outside the EEA depending on their own configuration. Where legally required, such transfers should be covered by appropriate safeguards.

10. Your Rights

Because Chess Training does not create user accounts and does not collect personal data through the normal use of the puzzle tool, we generally cannot identify you as a visitor. Your puzzle progress and preferences are stored locally on your own device and can be erased from your browser.

If you have contacted us by email or if you believe we hold information relating to you, you may contact contact@chesstraining.com to request access, correction or deletion where applicable. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the CNIL.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service, our providers or applicable law. The date at the top shows the latest update.
